FEAT is a collective effort of a few quantitative analysts (not necessarily designated as such) in financial institutions and computer science professionals who have come to deeply distrust the existing exams in the market that award degrees, diplomas and other certificates in financial economics, finance and quantitative finance. FEAT is designed to test the cognitive abilities of an individual along with his power of creativity and lateral thinking. Both the analytical, systems approach to problem solving as well as the ability to laterally and creatively think outside the box are tested. In fact, as one of the founders of FEAT put it: " in today's world of finance one has to think as if the box was never there."

There is no right or wrong answer for most of the questions. The answer is just how a person approaches a problem which tells how he is thinking. And this is all that matters in finance and banking today, according to these few, select group of individuals, who may well be from Pluto or Xena.

Risk Latte would like to popularize FEAT as the standard aptitude test both for those who aspire to join banks and financial institutions as well as those who are in such institutions; we want to make FEAT the benchmark for judging a individual's aptitude not only to be in the area of financial economics and quantitative finance but also in the entire arena of finance and banking. It is our belief that no matter which area of banking, insurance or finance a person is in, he is basically a financial engineer and needs the aptitude to become one.
